La Perouse - Transmission Point

Transmission Point

With Nicolas Montgermont at La Perouse Museum

From 28 March to 24 May 2026, French artist Nicolas Montgermont participated to TRANSMISSION POINT at La Perouse Museum, a meeting place for Art, First Nation knowledge, European exploration and natural histories.

Set on the La Perouse headland, Transmission Point considers sound as a medium of connection, grounded in the site’s history as a former cable station - a place where stories, signals and cultures converge. Through performances, broadcasts and installations, the project rethinks “transmission” as both a technological and collective act: sharing knowledge, amplifying voices, and engaging with the layered histories of place.

Within this framework, Nicolas Montgermont’s work makes the invisible perceptible, transforming electromagnetic and environmental signals into immersive sonic experiences, and revealing the hidden infrastructures that shape how we listen, communicate and relate to our environment.

Curated by French-Australian Anabelle Lacroix, Transmission Point explores the layered histories and resonances of the headland, approaching transmission as a shared act of collaboration, signal and knowledge exchange.
