On February 5 2026, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris hosted a day dedicated to PULSE OF THE PLANET, conceived as a space for dialogue between art, science, and ecological thinking.
The program brought together audiences, researchers, and professionals to reflect collectively on our relationship with the living world.
At the heart of the project: a hydrophone recording capturing a steady pulse in the depths of the ocean.
Through immersive sound, projections, conversations, and a vibrational performance, Mel invited participants to question the symbolic and political meaning of this “pulsation”, echoing the human heartbeat and that of the Earth.
An Australian artist based between Sydney and Paris, Mel embodies this international dynamic and a commitment to new spaces for creation and research.
The initiative aligns with the ambitions of the Resonance Grants program, supporting visual arts and the mobility of artists and researchers between France and Australia, while strengthening French–Australian cultural cooperation.
